Project Objective:
For this project, we need to ask the question: How can we use Chemistry to support the chemical treatment of wastewater and various clean water initiatives? Our Group stressed the urgency of the water problem in the world. By 2025, half the world will be living in water stressed areas. Our group identified of the lack of clean water source in less developed countries as a main issue. Our group hope to provide a solution to get people access to a clean sustainable water source. For this project, our group is going to provide a series of procedures on how to purify dirty water. |

Coagulation/flocculation: The addition of polymers that clump the small, destabilized particles together into larger aggregates so that they can be more easily separated from the water.
Disinfection: The Process that is used to kill off bacteria, viruses, or parasites.

Reflection:
This project highlighted the need to solve the world's problem surrounding water. The problem surrounding water is much more serious then we thought. Our group realized the problem and collaborated on solving the issue. The project went well in solving the issue by proposing a relative cheap and easy method on purifying. But, our group had a lot of times where we were just arguing what should we do for the project. For future projects, I hope we can learn form this project to not argue a lot. Because of the arguing within the group, I learned to dissolve the argument and make a decision before the group wastes more time. I also learned on how plant filtering work in water. From this project, I need to improve on getting enough sleep so I can focus on the project, and be able to making a decision faster to contribute more to the team.
